Set up size charts and fit notes
Create size-guide pages, match them to products and explain how shoppers should measure.
A size chart explains your measurements; a shopper's saved size preference helps select a product option. They are separate settings. Use this guide for charts and Shopper profile for saved preferences.
Create the content first
In App builder > Pages, create a page containing the chart and clear measurement units. You can create a second page for measuring instructions. Make the pages visible using the workflow described in custom pages. A draft or missing page cannot provide a useful guide to shoppers.
Open App builder > Branding and find Size guides. If there are no custom guide rules, products with a size option use the Vunda page whose slug is size-guide. A slug is the short name used in a page's link.
Match guides to products
- Choose Add a size guide. Give it a useful Guide name, such as Women's shoes.
- Select its Size chart page and optional How to measure page.
- Add a short Fit note when helpful, for example Runs small, size up. Use evidence from your products, not a promise that every shopper will get the same fit.
- Under Match products, enter the relevant Product tags, Product types or Shopify categories. Tags and types accept comma-separated values. Categories use Shopify category identifiers and include their subcategories.
- A tag match takes priority over a product type, and a product type over a category. A guide with no matching rules is the default. Avoid overlapping rules where you intend different charts, and check representative products.
- Choose Save size guides. Where the page says size guides are included in the complete private design save, use that design's save and publication process instead.
Optional product-specific charts
A Shopify metafield is an extra field attached to a product. Use one only when individual products need their own chart or fit note.
- For Size guide page metafield, create a product metafield of type Page reference, turn on storefront access and select a Shopify page on each relevant product. Enter its namespace and key in Vunda, such as
custom.size_chart. This Shopify page takes priority over the Vunda matching rules above. - For Fit note metafield, use a text metafield with storefront access, for example
custom.fit_note, and enter each product's note in Shopify.
The Shopify page used by a Page reference is different from a page created in Vunda's page builder. Follow Shopify's metafield setup guidance for the extra product fields.
Check the shopper experience
Open products from each matching group and an unmatched product with a size option. Open the guide from the product page, read the chart and measuring instructions, then close it and choose a size. Check a narrow phone screen so chart labels remain readable.
If the wrong guide appears, check product tags, types, categories and any product-specific page reference. If it is missing, check the size option, page visibility, saved guide and app refresh. A Size guides could not be loaded message means retry loading; your saved rules are unchanged, so do not recreate them over an unread configuration.
