Configure shopper profiles and size preferences

Set useful profile questions, match real product options and verify personalised recommendations.

Open App builder > Shopper profile and enable Let shoppers save a profile. The profile helps with supported size choices and personalisation on that phone. It is not automatically a Shopify customer-field editor or a cross-device profile service.

Ask useful questions

  1. Enable Ask for sizes if relevant. Give each size system a clear Name shoppers see.
  2. Enter Product option names matching the real Shopify options, such as Size or UK Size. Put the actual option values in Sizes, in order. Restrict Only for product types if a system applies to one category.
  3. Use Add a size system from your products where helpful, then inspect the imported names and values.
  4. Configure the relevant profile questions. Under Ask your own questions, write a clear question and choose whether shoppers can select several answers.
  5. Complete each answer's product matching. Choose No product matching deliberately when an answer is informational; do not leave a half-configured rule.
  6. Enable Show Your profile in Account if shoppers should have that entry point, then save.

Profile matching relies on your catalogue. Keep product options, types and tags accurate in Shopify Products. Avoid collecting information you do not need.

Connect the profile to shopping

Pick the shopper's size on product pages can select a matching in-stock option when the page opens; shoppers can still choose another option. It cannot guarantee fit or create stock. Size filtering also needs the supported Shopify filter, not just a profile question.

Starter-routine recommendations in this editor map answers to a routine title and collection. For authored multi-step routines and reminders, use the separate Routines editor.

Verify the result

Save an example profile on a phone. Open a product with matching sizes, one with different sizes and one with the preferred size sold out. Check personalised sections with and without profile answers. Explain empty results through the matching rules and available catalogue rather than promising recommendations to every shopper.
