Set up product templates by collection

A product template is a reusable product-page layout you assign to one or more Shopify collections. Every product in a collection you pick gets that template's layout automatically, so you design a page once instead of editing each product by hand.

How templates pick which products they cover

You do not assign a template product by product. You assign it to collections, and Vunda matches products through their collection membership. When you pick collections in the template, the helper line under the picker says it directly: Products in these collections will use this template.

Products that are not in any template's collections fall back to your default template, so every product always has a page to show.

What you will need

• One or more Shopify collections that group the products you want to share a layout. Collections are managed in your Shopify admin, not in Vunda.
• Nothing else. Templates draw on your live Shopify catalogue, so there is no separate connection step.

Step 1: open Product templates

In the builder tab strip, open Product templates. This is the workspace where your templates live, alongside Homepage, Menu, Pages, Components and Branding.

Step 2: create a template and pick its collections

Start a new template to open the Create product template dialog. Fill in:

• Template name - a name for your own reference (for example, "Electronics" or "Apparel").
• A description, which is optional.
• The collections this template applies to. As you select them, the picker confirms Products in these collections will use this template.

Save the dialog to create the template. A collection can belong to only one template at a time, so if a collection is already taken by another template, Vunda flags the clash and asks you to remove it from the selection before saving.

Step 3: design the layout

A new template starts from the default layout. Open the template's section editor to build its product page the same way you build the home screen: add and reorder sections, set each one's options, and watch the phone preview update as you go. What you arrange here is what shoppers see for every product in the template's collections.

Reuse a layout with Clone template

To base a new template on an existing one, clone it. Cloning opens the same dialog under the Clone template heading and copies the source layout into a fresh template. A clone starts with no collections assigned, so give it a name and pick its own collections before you save - that keeps each collection mapped to exactly one template.

After you set up templates

Your templates take effect in the app the next time you publish a new version from the Publish page. Until then you can keep editing layouts and reassigning collections; nothing reaches shoppers' devices until you publish.
