Build your welcome and consent flow

Configure the first-run welcome screen, permission explanations and privacy choices without confusing them with system prompts.

Open App builder > Welcome flow. The welcome experience explains your app and asks for choices; it does not override permissions already recorded by iOS, Android or the shopper.

Configure the first visit

  1. Review the available Presets before editing. Applying one replaces the current unsaved settings, so save anything you want to keep first.
  2. Under Splash, choose whether to Show the launch splash and configure its appearance. Splash artwork is separate from the app icon and the operating system's launch screen.
  3. Use Show a welcome screen first for the introductory headline and images before consent. It is a first-visit step, not an advertisement that reappears on every launch.
  4. Configure the Push step, Analytics step, their order and the available Look & feel settings. Explain the real benefit and keep the decline choice understandable.
  5. If using Privacy choices, select Show privacy choices instead of the analytics step. This replaces that step and the simpler analytics setting in Account; it is not a second compulsory consent screen.
  6. Review any Welcome offer against the actual offer and discount setup. Entering persuasive copy does not create a Shopify discount. Save the flow when the preview is correct.

Understand permissions

Vunda's explanation screen and the system notification permission dialog are different. A saved toggle or a preview replay will not force the operating system to ask again after a previous answer. Check notification permissions in the phone's Settings when diagnosing a missing prompt.

Analytics consent is not necessarily an Apple tracking prompt. Only describe the collection your configured integrations actually perform. Follow your privacy obligations and keep your policy consistent with your choices.

Verify first-run and returning behaviour

Test on a device that has not answered the flow, then return after accepting or declining. Check that Account lets the shopper revisit the relevant choices. Browser preview replay does not reset an installed app's consent. Verify notification delivery separately using the push setup and test flow.
