Check your app before launch
A merchant checklist for real content, shopping, permissions, privacy, support and store release.
Use this checklist on the app version you intend to release, with your actual content and settings. The browser preview helps with design; it cannot replace phone checks or the App Store and Google Play release steps.
Content and navigation
- Remove example products, placeholder copy, unfinished sections and unavailable feature promises.
- Scroll every visible page. Check readable text, clear photos, prices, buttons and links on a small phone, then on any wider layout you support.
- Open each tab, header link, product, collection and custom page. Confirm Back and close controls return to the right place.
- Check Search, an empty Saved list, an empty collection and an unavailable product. Shoppers should have a useful next action.
Shopping and accounts
- Change product variants, add and remove items, change quantities and return from the bag.
- Check at least one intended country and currency. Use an authorised test purchase to verify checkout, delivery choices, discounts and the order result. Do not change a live store's payment configuration casually.
- If using bundles, drops or incentives, complete their guide's checkout checks. A visible badge or countdown is not proof of a working offer.
- If sign-in is enabled, test sign-in, sign-out, order access and the supported account-data controls. Check support, policy and contact links.
Optional features and permissions
Test the features you actually enabled: clips, Following, forms, routines, birthday offers and notifications. Also decline optional permissions and confirm ordinary shopping still works. Verify notification delivery on a paired test phone, not a real customer audience.
Keep excluded loyalty, raffle checkout, cross-device reminders and live lock-screen updates out of your app's promotional copy. Review feature availability before promising anything to customers.
Privacy and store release
Complete your privacy policy and store disclosures for the enabled integrations. In Settings > Privacy requests, verify the provided deletion-request link and your request-handling process. Do not erase a real customer's data as a test.
Follow publishing and store listings. An uploaded build is not a live store listing. Check each store independently and use Record this store as live only after its console confirms the release.
Record and repeat what changed
Keep the tested app version, phone platform, date and any unresolved issue. After a later update, repeat the journeys affected by that update and a short shopping check. If a check fails, use troubleshooting and give support the exact steps rather than repeatedly reinstalling.
